2011 GIFA & NEWCAST
(Summary description) From June 28 through July 2, 2011, we were invited to participate in the 2011 GIFA & NEWCAST cum the WFO Technology Forum that is organized by Messe Dusseldorlf once every four years. As the world’s largest casting exhibition, it boasts an exhibition area of more than 180,000sqm, more than 2400 exhibitors, and 74000 professional visitors from 69 countries and regions across the world. The area of Chinese suppliers of equipment, materials and foundries reached 4200sqm, and the number of exhibitors was around 300.
We noticed a trend in exhibitors and visitors: most visitors in the equipment pavilion were from Asia, especially from India and China, while most visitors in the casting pavilion were from Europe and other developed countries. This implies the decline of casting in Europe and other western countries, and also indicates the booming development of the casting industry in Asia.
Our 20m2 booth was located next to the organizer of NEWCAST. During the busy five days, we exchange in-depth opinions with visitors, exhibitors and other friends about moulds and casting. Especially in terms of new materials, overseas manufacturers have already used very professional materials to produce moulds and applied diversified materials and technologies for different kinds of moulds. We saw that many molding line moulds were made of synthetic resin instead of traditional metal. This material can be directly used to create moulds and then for CNC machining without manufacturing the case mould and mould blanks, which greatly accelerates the mould production, shortens the machining time of moulds, and satisfies many time-sensitive development applications.
During the exhibition, many interested customers visited our booth, inquired about mould manufacturing, and we discussed about the mode of cooperation with potential customers. In addition, our booth was delicately designed with Chinese elements and we also provide Chinese-styled souvenirs that were favored by a lot of visitors. The trip was fruitful for us and will bring immeasurable benefits to the company in the short and long term.
